What is the busiest time of the season?

The busiest time is from the end of June until the end of July on the weekends. Weekdays are usually not as busy. We always recommend making a reservation in advance.

Most campsites accommodate 10 people per site. We do have group sites available, please call our office for specific details on these sites.

Usually, 1 camper trailer & one tent can fit on one W&E/Full site. If there is not a camper trailer there is a 3-4 tents maximum(depending on tent size) on a W&E/Full site.

Yes, there is an additional fee per site per night for the hookup sites.

Yes, pets are allowed in our campground. They do need to be kept on a leash at all times.

Yes, we have 2 dump stations. One is located by the upper shower house and the other is on the loud side of our campground.

Yes, we have three showers houses/restrooms throughout our campground. One is on the Loud side and the other two are on the Family side. The showers are coin-operated and they cost .50 cents each. The showers last 4 to 5 minutes.

We are 1 ½ hours from St. Louis.

We are open year-round. We do have limited lodging during the winter hours. We do recommend making a reservation in advance at 1-800-367-4516.

Golf carts are welcome but other recreational vehicles are not.

Some suggested items are a tent, tent stakes, rope, sleeping bag, air mattress, pillow, camp stove, lantern, lawn chairs, insect repellent, toiletries, cookware, cooler, food and drinks. We do have a fully stocked Country Store.

Yes, we recommend a reservation on weekends, especially Memorial weekend to Labor Day weekend. Weekdays don’t require a reservation, but we always recommend calling to let us know you are coming.

Yes, we have the family side where the quiet hours start at 11:00pm and then we have the loud (zoo) side where the quiet hours start at 1:00am.

We have dumpsters located throughout the campground. Trash is to be placed in these.

Small and Large Mouth Bass, Goggle Eye, Blue Gill, Suckers, and Sunfish. You may fish along the bank anywhere in our campground. Every now and then you might see a trout. These fish escape from the trout hatchery up the Dry Creek. It doesn’t happen very often. A fishing license is required and can be purchased at the Country Store.

We have a 10-day cancellation policy; as long as you cancel at least 10 days prior to your arrival you will get your deposit back less a $35.00 service charge. If you cancel less than 10 days prior to your arrival you will forfeit your deposit in full.

Sunday-Thursday the office is open until 9pm, Friday night until 11:00pm, and Saturday night until 10:00pm. You may check in any time after 3pm. If you arrive after the office is closed you will need to check in with the night watchman on the front porch and come up the following morning to get a car tag. Closing times are Memorial Day through Labor Day. Off Season is October – April, please call for closing times.

Camping reservations should be made at least 2 weeks, if not 2 months prior to your arrival. We tend to book up quickly for weekends Memorial Day through Labor Day. Last-minute reservations can be made depending on availability.

All reservations are to be paid in full before arrival. Once you make the reservation you have 10 days to pay.

No, camping prices in the Loud area are different than in the family area. Anyone under the age of 18 who is staying in the loud area has to have an Underage Parental Permission slip signed.

No, horses are NOT allowed.

River FAQs

Why is there purple paint along the river?

Purple paint stands for No Trespassing to signify private property. Violators will be prosecuted. Trespassing starts at $169 per incident.

There is a $25.00 service charge per hour per craft taken out after 7:00 p.m.

No coolers larger than 52 quarts are allowed.

There is a $150 minimum fine for any damage to watercraft or equipment. If you abandon your watercraft or equipment you will be required to pay for it. 

Your float price includes rental of the equipment, paddles, trash bags, and shuttle arrangements.

Yes, pets are allowed on the floats they just need to be kept on a leash.

Glass bottles or Styrofoam are not allowed on the rivers by law.  For a full list of floating policies please reference www.floatmissouri.com

Lodging FAQs

You need to bring all linens, pillows, towels, utensils, cookware, lawn chairs, food and drinks. Except for the  Dry Creek Den, Eagles Nest 1 and 2, Beaver Den, Otter Tail, and Huzzah Haven. These units come fully furnished.

Yes, pets are allowed. There is a non-refundable pet deposit of $ 50.00 per pet.

Yes, we do have a Country Store at the Main Office. We have a little bit of everything. So if you forget something we should have it.

Yes, reservations are needed for lodging especially Memorial Day through Labor Day. We cannot guarantee any lodging units without a reservation.

Yes, you need to check out from your campsite, especially if you are on the loud side so you can receive your security deposit(s) back.

Cabin 1 and Huzzah Hilton 9 and 10 are handicapped accessible.

The only lodging unit located by the water is the Huzzah Haven.  However, all lodging is within walking distance of the water with some closer than others.
