January has come and gone we want to say thank you to all those who have made reservations. From the looks of how full we are already getting this summer and the sound of our phones ringing, some of you are staying true to your New Year’s Resolutions and we couldn’t be more excited!
February is in full swing at HV! Even though, this is a short month we still have a lot to do around here. Slowly, but surely we are crossing off items on our checklist as we prepare for spring which will be here before we know it! We strongly encourage you to make a check list too, especially if you are a newbie to camping. If you’re not sure what to add to your checklist here are a few tips to get you started:
Consider who you want to invite on your camping excursion. Is this a trip for just friends or maybe you’re looking for some quality time with your children? Whomever it may be, set aside a day to have them come over and discuss what your camping plans/ideas are. Hot topics might include but are not limited to destination, budget and activities.
Take a Sunday drive and visit the campground. During this visit you can get a layout of the campground, see the amenities they offer, visit with the staff and get brochures/information to take back to your family and friends. This will ensure that you get the perfect spot and that the campground is going to meet all your needs during your stay.
Mark your calendar early! Don’t wait too long for reservations! Good sites usually go quickly and procrastination will only complicate what is supposed to be a trip full of laughter, fun, and memories.
Take inventory of your camping supplies. No need to buy items you already have laying around in storage. Save that extra money for your camping trip!
Do some of your own research! Talk to people who camp regularly. They might be able to give you a camping hack or two. Go online. Make sure to click the Pinterest button at the bottom of our page.
