Although we’ve had a great fall so far, it might be starting to get a little chilly for you summer lovers. Just because the temperatures are getting colder doesn’t mean you can’t still have a little vacation and relaxation time! Here at Huzzah Valley we provide lodging units that stay open all year. They are equipped with all the necessities: a great view, serenity, and (most importantly) heat. Some of our units even have hot tubs and fireplaces. For those of you that are set on camping I’ve found a few hacks for staying warm in the months to come.
Eat plenty: I know while camping most of us tend to enjoy the food and treats. Fortunately for us this actually keeps us warm! Eat big meals with tons of calories. It’s no longer bikini season so no worries! Keep extra snack around just in case you start to feel cold. Also, a little hot chocolate never hurt anyone (unless it’s too hot and burnt their tongue).
Layer it up: This might be one of the most obvious tips, but also one of the most important. Make sure you don’t forget to pack lots of extra clothes. Bring large shirts to put over your other shirts. Grab a coat that will fit over a sweat shirt. Be sure to put a hat and thick socks on because most of our heat escapes though these areas. Putting lots of clothes can help out immensely, but be careful not to pack on too much. If you start to sweat your sweat can make you cold regardless of the amount of clothing you have on.
Bring a buddy… or a few: Use body heat to heat up a tent. Lots of people like to spread out and have lots of space when sleeping, but the more people you put in a tent, the warmer it will be. The combination of body heat, any heaters brought, and sleeping bags will help keep you nice and toasty all night.
If these tips just aren’t enough to convince you to try camping during the beautiful winter months maybe a cozy warm unit is in the cards for you. Our units can fit two up to thirty people. There is nothing better than enjoying the cooler weather with your friends and family in a peaceful cabin in the woods. Come check out just how relaxing it is here in the winter. The views are great and the time together is priceless. It might just change your preference of summer.
